The Indian Affairs Department (IAD) welcomes the newly confirmed Cabinet Secretary, Lynn Trujillo. Secretary Trujillo was unanimously confirmed by the Senate on February 20, 2019.
Secretary Trujillo brings two decades of experience working in partnership with native communities. Previously she worked with Native American Indian tribes and tribal-serving organizations throughout New Mexico and the United States as a Native American Coordinator for the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development. Secretary Trujillo holds a bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College and a J.D. from UNM School of Law and has years of experience focusing on tribal law. She is a member of Sandia Pueblo, where she previously served as general counsel, as well as part Acoma and Taos pueblos.
